SUNNYBEACH HOLIDAY APARTMENTS

LOCATION

Located within easy level access of railway and bus stations. Collections and drop off from/to the stations can be arranged with a taxi company. Alternatively the building is an easy 5 minute level walk. It is a 2 minute level walk to the promenade and beach with the pier a further 5 minutes away. Mobility is relatively easy for wheel chairs and electric scooters as Paignton is mainly on the level. The Harbour is 2 minutes easy walk along the front. There is a main road to cross but this has islands as well as pelican crossings to aid access to the promenade. The Town Centre, restaurants, shops and multi-screen cinema are in easy reach and accessible on foot.

BUILDING

Elegant 4 storey Victorian Town House built around 1890 with a lower ground floor having 3 apartments with level access from the rear. Cars can be unloaded at the rear for apartments 10, 11 and 12 then parked at the front of Sunnybeach.
There is a superb studio apartment on the ground floor accessed by the front steps.
There are a further 7 apartments on the 1st and 2nd floors. The owner's accommodation is located on the ground floor. There is a car park at the front of the building with a space for one car per apartment, parking is easy with no shunting involved. A patio area with seating and tables is easily accessible from the rear for apartments 11 and 12. The building is well maintained and the apartments are decorated to a high standard providing 5 Studio Apartments and 6 Apartments each with different layouts. All apartments have wall to wall carpeting and have electric fires or convector heaters for Spring and Winter Bookings. Electricity is provided by £1.00 coin meters. The windows have all been replaced with new UPVC double glazing. The building has a fire safety inspection annually.

 

SERVICE PROVIDED

During the summer season and main holiday periods apartments are provided for self catering holidays. All apartments are cleaned to a high standard and beds made up (duvets) on arrival.

Refuse bin is located at the rear of the building, we are recycling so this means that different bins are available and labelled for glass and newspapers.

Towels can be hired.

BEDROOM ACCOMMODATION

Double beds are 4ft 6ins. 2 pillows per person per bed provided, more pillows available on request. Single beds are 3ft. All rooms have wardrobes with ample hangers, bedside lamps and sets of drawers. Apartment 12 has 2 steps down into double bedroom with hand rail to aid access.

Jane and David live on the ground floor.

THE WELCOME

The property is a 2-3 Stars. NO smoking facility.
All guests are welcomed in person by Jane or David who take them to their apartment and explain the facilities in detail. There are also information sheets on each floor. Each apartment has a number and this is displayed on the door.
Each key ring has a front door key and a key to the apartment. Additional keys can be provided on request.
A welcome supply of tea, milks, sugar and mints is provided.

RECORD OF GUESTS FOR FIRE INSURANCE

Guests are recorded using the original Booking Form showing their requirements and details. A holiday planner chart also contains record of the guests.
Fire Alarm details are displayed on the back of each apartment door.

STEPS

Access to the front door and reception is via 7 steps which are 18cm high.

HANDRAILS

To aid access there are hand rails to the right and left of the front steps and a hand rail to the left of the ramp at the rear of the building.

APPROACH/CAR PARKING

The car park is at the front of the building and offers easy parking for 1 vehicle per apartment. Cases can be unloaded at the front steps before parking the car for guests convenience. When required assistance with luggage will be given. For persons travelling by train or coach, luggage can be dropped off before admittance at 2.30pm.

DOORS EXTERNAL

Front glass double glazed door accessible via steps. Rear glass double glazed door accessible from rear. Apartment 12 has its own glass double glazed door accessed from rear of building and up 3 steps. Internal doorways are narrow and wheelchair movement would not be possible.

 

INTERIORS

There are wall to wall fitted carpets throughout and cushion flooring in some of the en-suites.
Light switches are 1400mm or lower.
Bathroom fitments, kitchen cupboards and divans are of conventional design and height. Wall beds are fully sprung and are easily operated, Jane makes them up and explains how to use them.
TVs have remote controls and digital free view boxes.
En-suites have new shower trays and shower cubicles with a small step up to enter.
All apartments have their own hot water tank in the loft thermostatically heated. Cold water from main.
Kitchens have fire blankets.
There are electric kettles, microwaves, toasters in all apartments.

Litter bins are provided.
